Honda Unicorn 160 crosses Yamaha FZ's sales figures for April

Snapshot: Honda Unicorn out sells Yamaha FZ and Suzuki Gixxer just after few months of its launch

Honda Unicorn has been selling in Indian market for almost a decade now and Unicorn series has always been a successful product in terms of sales. The new Unicorn 160 has been climbing up the ladder since it was introduced first in the month of January. The Japanese auto Giant sold a total of 6354 units in the initial month of its launch and the numbers are climbing since then.

Crossing the sales figures of Suzuki’s Street Fighter ‘Gixxer 150’ previously, Unicorn 160 has over taken FZ in the month of April and Unicorn is proving to be a super successful product once again. The total number of Unicorn 160’s that were sold in the month of April was 19,994 that are almost half of the units sold by Bajaj of Pulsar 150 motorcycles in the same month. Bajaj sold 38,549 units of Pulsar 150 in the month of April. While Yamaha managed to sell around 15,396 units of higly succesfull FZ. The new Unicorn 160 is powered by a 163.2cc engine that is capable enough of producing a maximum power output of 14.5PS and 14.6Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The bike comes equipped with the Combi-breaking system (CBS) and the engine gets Honda Eco-Technology (HET). The HET technology helps the bike in delivering an impressive fuel economy. The motorcycles that are sold by Honda in 150cc space are CB Trigger, CB Unicorn 160 and the CBR150R.
