Earlier we told you that KTM is thinking about introducing Husqvarna to India and there are chances that we might witness Husky’s motorcycles getting tested in short time. Looks like Husqvarna’s plan to return to the road bikes market is on schedule as recently Vitpilen 401 has been caught tested in Spain. The bike is based on Duke 390’s platform and the bike was spied under camo wearing Duke’s headlights and orange wheels. It is easy to understand that the bike below camo is a production version of concept machine shown last year due to the shape of the seat and tank. It is expected that the production version of Vitpilen 401 will be based more or less on the same engine and chassis from the KTM 390 Duke. The Duke 390 is powered from a 373cc engine that delivers 44bhp of raw power.

Earlier this year, KTM’s CEO, Stefan Pierer conveyed that Vitpilen and Svartpilen concept are near to the production models and production of the same will begin from the end of year 2016. These are planned to be launched by 2017. For motorcycles up to 400cc the rolling chassis of KTM Duke will be used and the same chassis will be exported to Mattighofen, Austria from India itself where final assembling of parts will be done.

Once KTM introduces Husqvarna in Indian market, these modern retro models from Husky will lock horns with offerings from the Royal Enfield.
