Hyosung GD250R - Expected launch Q2 2015!

Snapshot: The Stunning GD250R is coming soon!!

The fact is, Hyosung has struck gold in the Indian market after the collaboration with the DSK Group. When Hyosung came back to India after years of their first attempt at Indian market way back in early 2000's with the then Kinetic Engineering, they had collaborated with the Garware group. Though the collaboration did not last long and DSK came to shake hands with the South Korean company, and none of them have looked back after that.

With a product portfolio consisting of Supersports and cruisers in the 250 and the 650 cc segment, DSK-Hyosung were the first to truly exploit the stark deficiency of motorcycle in the middle weight category at India. Though their 250cc offerings are still priced on a higher side, but their Aquila GV250 is the only premium cruiser in the segment. While the other 250cc offering by Hyosung, the GT250R though an absolute beauty to behold with a proper big bike feel and look, designed almost completely to look like its big brother the GT650r, the GT250r has a 250cc V-Twin and a different chassis than the bigger Hyosung. However, all this had made the GT250r a pretty heavy motorcycle robbing a lot of performance out of it, while it isn't cheap too, as compared to other rivals like the RC390 .

We are all aware that the market in the bracket around the 250cc and above is rapidly increasing, and to deal with such a rise in demand Hyosung does have 2 products that suit us perfectly, the GD250n and the GD250r. Both these products were supposed to be launched in India in the year 2014 itself. While, the naked GD250n was displayed at the Auto Expo 2014, the GD250r only came later and was displayed in Korean motor Expo's. The GD twins share the engine, The shared single-cylinder mill has a peak power output of 28 BHP and produces maximum torque of 24 Nm. Power is transmitted to the wheels via a six-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by a pair of inverted forks in front and monoshocks in the back. Petal disc brakes are installed on both the front and rear to give the rider the ability to bring the bike to a standstill in very less time. The GD250R will be given a digital instrument cluster, which e reckon it the most incredible looking meter console in this segment for any motorcycle.

The GD250R is a full faired 250cc bike which has a liquid cooled, fuel-injected engine. It has a lot in common with the GD250N and rightly so as it is just a  faired alternative to the naked Streetfighter. One aspect that will separate these bikes is that the 250R will have clip-on handlebars, giving it a sportier orientation when compared to the straight-wide ones that feature on the GD250N naked version. Given the love for full faired bikes in our country, the baby Hyosung looks perfectly build to take the fight to the KTM's incredible RC twins.

The Hyosung GD250R looks absolutely stunning, has pretty decent equipment like the USD front forks, clip one handle bars, and that incredibly gorgeous all digital meter console. Being a single cyclinder, it can and will surely be priced aggressively and we expect it to be priced around 2.25 lakhs Ex-Showroom, while we should have the naked GD250N too, to have a proper fight with the Duke Brother's from KTM. Expect this incredible product from DSK-Hyosung to come out around the end of Q2 in 2015.

With DSK planning to construct a manufacturing plant with an investment of 400 crores at Pune as we reported it yesterday only, we might just see these models being manufactured in the country, which will give DSK-Hyosung an incredible price positioning to kill the competition.

Stay with us as we bring you more news on this!!!
