Hyundai India, under PM Modi's 'Skill India’ Programme, has strengthened association with 25 ITIs in the country. This expansion of Hyundai’s association with 25 ITIs comes after a successful completion of a pilot program that Hyundai launched in 2012 across 5 locations. Almost 95% of trained graduates from this Hyundai’s Skill Development Programme (2012-2015) were recruited by Hyundai dealerships in 2015.

Announcing the initiative, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP - Sales and Marketing, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “Hyundai is a stakeholder in India’s progress and a responsible corporate citizen. Our alliance with ITI and vocational institutes is aimed at reducing the skill deficit in the Indian automobile industry’s shop floors. With this partnership, we are confident that Hyundai will be able to bridge the gap of skilled manpower availability and help Auto Industry to achieve global competitiveness.” As a responsible corporate citizen, this is Hyundai Motor India’s initiative to contribute to Govt. of India’s Skill India Programme. Hyundai’s Skill Development Programme has already benefited over 1000 students who studied the course at 25 ITIs across the country in centers such as: Hyderabad, Lucknow, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Sangli, Dehradun, Ludhiana, Vizag, Cochin, Sonepat, etc.

Under the scope of Hyundai’s Skill Development Programme, the company has introduced latest training methodologies at these 25 ITIs across India. A two-year-long training program with structured 96 hour content of 27 chapters and workshop practical along with 4 days of exclusive OJT (On-Job-Training) at Hyundai dealerships gives students hands on experience and become H STEP 1 CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN. Hyundai India’s specifically designed training curriculum will help address the scarcity of employable skilled manpower in the industry. Under the aegis of this program, the two year curriculum is structured in a manner that in the first year, students study ITI curriculum and Hyundai curriculum in second year.
