Hyundai India is all set to launch the Creta compact SUV on July 21, 2015 in the country. The bookings for the same has commenced at various company dealerships with token price ranging between Rs. 21,000-51,000. In fact, Hyundai Creta's official website has gone live, and moreover, it was recently snapped completely undisguised. For your information, it would lock horns with the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Maruti S-Cross in India.
The production of Hyundai Creta has started at the South-Korean automaker's Chennai production facility. The India launch of Creta would also mark its world premiere as India would be the first country to have it, quite similar to the i20 Active. According to the company, the pricing of Creta is going to be extremely aggressive due to over 90 percent of localization. In fact, Hyundai intends to sell around 4000-5000 units of Creta monthly and, henceby capturing 10% of market share in the UV segment. Furthermore, the company belives to get 10 percent of overall Creta sales from the range-topping automatic variant, which would be a segment-first. For those asking, Creta would be Hyundai's second all-new vehicle launch in the country after the i20 Active.
Hyundai Creta adorns company's latest Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language, which has also been seen before in new Verna and Elite i20. It would share its interior cabin with the Elite i20, getting an array of avant-garde features in form of automatic climate control, push Start/Stop button, rear A/C vents, LED daytime running lights, and several more. Mechanically, it would come in both petrol and diesel guises with Verna's 1.6L engines. However, it is also being learnt that Hyundai might offer an entry-level variant with the smaller 1.4L engine as well. Don't get surprised if the Hyundai Creta's base variant is priced as low as Rs. 7.50 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
