Hyundai India has officially revealed the exterior as well as interior design renderings of its new global SUV Creta, which is expected to debut on July 21, 2015. The exterior designing is being based on the company's 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design philosophy. The interior cabin resembles to that of Elite i20, while the powertrains are expected to be borrowed from Hyundai's mid-sized sedan Verna.
"Creta design follows a premium look, based on Hyundai Motor's evolved design philosophy. Harmony between a bold front, voluminous side, sporty rear and other details complete the premium SUV's design," the company said. The front of the Hyundai Creta looks a lot like Santa Fe, while the feature-rich interior cabin including, dual-tone dashboard, 3-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls and the touch-screen infotainment system. In dimensions, Hyundai Creta measures 4270mm in length, 1780mm in width, 1630mm in height, while having a wheelbase of 2590mm.
Mechanically, Hyundai Creta is expected to come with the same set of 1.4L petrol and diesel and 1.6L petrol and diesel engines, which are seen on Verna mid-sized sedan. It has also been known that Creta would be offered with an automatic transmission, thus making it the first compact SUV in its segment to get an automatic variant. Hyundai India would price it quite aggressively against its rivals due to over 90 percent of localized content. The Hyundai Creta compact SUV is expected to be priced in a domain of Rs. 7.5-12 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
