Hyundai India, which just launched the next generation of its premium hatchback i20 in the country, is now all set to introduce the updated version of its premium sedan - Neo Fluidic Elantra. The company is gearing up for a early 2016 launch and India, too, would witness its launch by the mid 2016.
Recently, the facelift version of Elantra was spied as a test mule and the spy-shots reveal some of the modifications that it has gone under. It would adopt the new design philosophy of Hyundai, like several other recent cars. The front fascia of the saloon resembles to that of Genesis saloon, which is sold in international markets. The updated Elantra also showcases much larger front grille and redesigned headlamps with daytime running lights. Though, other modifications are quite tough to spot as the vehicle is entirely camouflaged, but it is expected that both front and rear bumpers would be tweaked along with an all new LED tail lamp cluster. The company won't make any changes to the doors and rear fenders of the saloon.
Hyundai has been quite tight-lipped about these developments and hence, there is no detail of the engine options that the Elantra facelift would carry. However, it shouldn't sound surprising if the company retains the same engine options that are available with the ongoing saloon. The company might introduce a better suspension system with the updated Elantra, as it did with the recently launched 'Elite i20', to improve handling and driveability.
