Korean automaker, Hyundai has updated the features list of the popular Elite i20 hatchback. In India, the 2019 Elite i20 directly rivals the Maruti Baleno and the Honda Jazz. The hatchback is one of the best-selling models for the Korean giant in India. In fact, the company had sold more i20s in December than the segment-leader Maruti Baleno.

With new updates, Hyundai aims to maintain the sales number of the Elite i20 hatchback. Maruti Suzuki is also readying the facelift of the Baleno hatchback, which is expected to arrive in late January or in February. Moreover, Tata will also enter into the premium hatchback segment with an all-new model based on the 45X concept.

The base Hyundai Elite i20 Era manual variant is now equipped with parking sensors and Eco Coating. The Magna variant is now called the Magna+, which is equipped with several new features like multi-functional steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition, keyless entry, daytime running lights, fog lamps, front map lamps and rear parking sensors. This variant also receive chrome enhancement on the front grille.

Instead of the Sportz and Asta variants, Hyundai has introduced a new Sportz+ variant. This model is now available in single-tone and dual-tone paint schemes, featuring 15-inch gunmetal alloys and 16-inch diamond cut alloys respectively. In terms of features, the hatchback gets chrome grille surround, Arkamys AVN system with smartphone connectivity, rear parking camera and sensors, sliding front armrest and tilt-telescopic steering. The dual-tone variant is also available with CVT automatic unit and wireless charging. Adding to it, the hatchback also gets adjustable rear headrests.

The top-spec Hyundai Elite i20 Asta (O) variant remains largely identical to the previous model, but it gets an option of the CVT gearbox and gets wireless charging feature. The Sportz+ dual-tone model also gets black outside rear view mirrors. The company hasn't made any changes to the engine specs, and changes are limited to features. The Hyundai Elite i20 is available with 2 engine options - 1.2-litre VTVT petrol and 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel. While the former is capable of producing 82bhp of power and 114Nm of torque, the oil burner is good for 89bhp of power and 220Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual (diesel), a 5-speed manual (petrol) and CVT automatic gearbox (Petrol). The 2019 Hyundai Elite i20 is priced at Rs 5.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base model and Rs 9.23 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end variant.
