Hyundai India is all set to launch the Anniversary Special Editions of Grand i10 and Xcent in the country. We recently told you that the South-Korean automaker has completed twenty years in India. The Grand i10 and Xcent Anniversary Special Editions have been spotted in flesh prior to the launch, which indicates the launch is imminent. It is being learnt that Hyundai Xcent Anniversary Edition would boast a Blaupunkt touch-screen infotainment system with Navigation and DVD Playback.
The Anniversary Editions are expected to be based on S trim, while coming with steel wheels. Earlier, it was believed that the special editions would be based on the flagship SX (O) variant. The Anniversary Edition models would get front chrome grille, side body graphics, bootlip spoiler and badge marking Hyundai’s 20-year presence. Hyundai launched the Xcent around two years back in 2014 in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The petrol variants were priced in range of Rs. 5.36 - 7.88 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi), while the diesel variants started at Rs. 6.26 Lakhs and went upto Rs. 8.07 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) for the range-topping.
Mechanically, the Xcent Anniversary Edition, in all likelihood, would be offered with the 1.2L 4-cylinder Kappa dual VTVT petrol engine and the 1.1L 3-cylinder U2 CRDi diesel engine. The former develops a maximum power of 82bhp and peak torque od113Nm, while the latter unleashes 71bhp of top power and 180Nm of highest torque. Both the engines would be linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai Xcent petrol variants deliver a mileage of 19.1kmpl, while the diesel model returns 24.4kmpl of fuel economy. Reportedly, the company would roll out AMT versions of its most of the vehicles by 2018 in the country.
