The Hyundai Grand i10 has been a runaway success for its maker in the Indian car market. Selling over 33,000 units within 90 days of its launch, this new hatchback entered the list of top-five selling car brands in India in a very short span of time. Now this vehicle has bagged the Indian Car of the Year Award (ICOTY) 2014, which is considered to be the most prestigious award in the Indian automotive industry.The Grand i10 defeated other two very capable products Honda Amaze and Ford EcoSport to win this year's ICOTY, which makes it an even more special award for the company.
In bikes, it's the newly launched Royal Enfield Continental GT 535 that grabbed the Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) award for 2014. The Continental GT 535 is the most awarded Royal Enfield motorcycle sold anywhere in the world. The KTM Duke 390 was the closest competitor of the Continental GT in the race to become IMOTY 2014.
In line with the European Car of the Year and the American Car of the Year, leading automobile magazines in India who constitute the jury of the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) and Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) along with JK tyre presented the most coveted awards of the Indian automotive industry.
