According to the latest reports, the South Korean auto giant Hyundai has postponed the launch of the facelifted version of its popular hatchback Grand i10 to the next year. The hatchback facelift has been spotted testing on Indian roads quite a few times, which strongly hinted that the car might see the light of the day this year itself.

The Hyundai Grand i10 Facelift, which is named as just Hyundai i10 globally, was first showcased at the Paris auto show. It is called Grand i10 only in India,  as it continues to sell with the older i10.

Most of the changes has been carried out in the front profile of the car.  The new car comes with new cascading grille. The Grand i10 would be the first Hyundai car with the new grille design, which is expected to become a standard across the range of Hyundai cars. The car also gets LED daytime running lamps and repositioned foglamps. The rear end of the car gets dual tone bumper with circular fog lamps which mirrors the front end. The side profile of the car remains unchanged.

The interiors should remain unchanged in the Indian version of Grand i10. In terms of infotainment, the European version has been confirmed to get a 7-inch system that supports Apple carplay and Android auto, however we are still not sure if the Indian version would also get the same set of features or not.

Mechanically, the upcoming Grand i10 would be the same as the existing one which has been powered by a 1.2 liter petrol and a 1.1 liter diesel engine. The Petrol engine churns out 82 bhp of power and 114 nm of torque, the petrol engine is further connected to a 5 speed manual or an optional 4 speed auto transmission box. The diesel engine on the other hand produces 70 bhp of power and 160 nm of torque.

The Grand i10 is a successful car from Hyundai India which efficiently takes on rivals like Maruti Suzuki Swift, Toyota Etios, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R etc. The small hatchback has got many takers soon after its launch, so the Korean company is keeping no stones unturned to maintain its popularity with the next upgrade.
