Hyundai has been testing the third-generation i30 premium hatchback in India for quite some time. It is not clear if the South Korean auto manufacturer will launch this model in the domestic market, but it could be a very interesting car here if introduced. Globally, the i30 premium hatchback is positioned above Hyundai i20 and it competes with rivals like Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus, Honda Civic, Toyota Auris etc.
Speaking about its styling, the Hyundai i30 premium hatchback boasts a very attractive and crisp look. It gets Hyundai’s contemporary radiator grille, sharp headlamps with dual projector units and integrated LED daytime running lights. This car focuses on aerodynamic efficiency and performance, which is visible from its overall exterior design. The car carries crisp character lines, large and bold looking alloy wheels, wraparound LED taillights, an integrated roof spoiler with high-mounted LED stop lamp.
Inside its cabin, the Hyundai i30 premium hatchback gets very sporty and upmarket vibe thanks to the design and the high-quality materials. It gets a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, analog and digital display at instrument cluster, a dash-top touchscreen infotainment system and an all-black colour scheme as well. It offers ample space for the occupants ensuring great comfort.
The Hyundai i30 test mule that has been spotted in India gets a 1.6D badge at the back. This indicates the car is powered by a 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine under the hood. This engine is available in three different states of tune. However, it is not sure, which one is being tested in the country.
