Hyundai India has inaugurated Hyundai Professional Development Center at Chandigarh Polytechnic College, Mohali. At this occasion Hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Satnam, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Bawa & Principal Mr. Gurmeet from Chandigarh Polytechnic College were also present. The company has taken initiative fulfilling its social objectives and support to community in enhancement on education standards, in line with latest technologies through tie ups with Polytechnic Institutes with specially designed curriculum, training material, car, engine, gear box & other learning aids.

This new syllabus will expose Automobile trade students to modern automobile technologies thereby increasing the opportunities of employability and career prospects. The new syllabus and practical training at dealership will add yet another dimension to the existing syllabus supported by HMIL. The programme will benefit Polytechnic in building skillful professionals for the Indian Automotive service industry. This tie up is a unique initiative undertaken by HMIL in partnership with Polytechnic and its dealers across India. The South-Korean automaker recently launched the Tucson SUV in the Indian market in a price range of Rs. 18.99-24.99 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). It is positioned between the Creta and Santa Fe, while it rivals the Toyota Innova Crysta and Skoda Yeti.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP - Sales and Marketing, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said “we wish to contribute towards a marked increase in the availability of skilled manpower in the automobile service industry. We are committed to provide the best to students, which will eventually benefit the industry and society on the whole.” Recently, it was learnt that Hyundai would foray into the sub 4-meter SUV segment by introducing the Carlino in 2019. The SUV had its world premiere at the 2016 Auto Expo in concept form. It would challenge the likes of Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300 and Maruti Vitara Brezza in the Indian market, while being locally manufactured at the company's Chennai production facility.
