Hyundai India has registered the highest-ever domestic sales of 50,016 units and exports of 14,356 units with record cumulative sales of 64,372 units for the month of October 2016 in the country. The South-Korean automaker has recorded a growth of 17.4 percent over the last month (September 2016). In addition, it was revealed that the all-new Elantra sedan has crossed 1500 bookings and the waiting period is nearly 4-5 weeks at several dealerships.
Commenting on the October sales Mr. Y K Koo, MD & CEO Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “Hyundai with a highest-ever domestic volume of 50,016 units registered record cumulative sales of 64,372 units in October 2016. Hyundai achieved the highest and fastest domestic sales of 50,000 units mark within 15 months from the earlier milestone of 40,000 units.” The company has already announced the launch of Tucson SUV on November 14, 2016 in the Indian market. The Tucson would be positioned between the Creta and the Santa Fe, while priced in a range of Rs. 15-18 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). Coming in both the petrol and diesel fuel trims, it would be locally manufactured at the company's Chennai production facility with 40 percent of local content.
