Hyundai India had a tremendous 2014 and they are hoping to replicate the success in 2015 also. The second largest car manufacturer in the country has just released the sales data for March 2015 and going by the numbers, they are certainly giving their best. HMIL has sold 39,525 units in the domestic market which is their highest ever in the country.
The Korean auto-giant managed to sell 39,525 units in March 2015 as against 35,003 units in March 2014, registering a growth of 12.9%. While these are only the domestic numbers, the company also sold 10,215 units in the export markets, taking the cumulative sales to 49,740 units for the month of March 2015.
Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP, Sales and Marketing, HMIL said, “In a market with weak sentiments, Hyundai achieved its highest-ever single month sales of 39,525 units with highest-ever financial Year sales of 4,20,668 units. The market share of 16.3% was highest-ever with strong performance of successful launch of new models like Elite, i20 Active, Xcent & Verna and lead by strong marketing initiatives to engage rural markets and repeat buyers.”
“The 2015 outlook seems challenging as currently there is low traction in the market with weak delivery on macro-economic parameters and on low customer’s sentiments. We are hopeful that an environment will be created to bring-in investment and create employment that will give the required thrust to grow the industry,” Srivastava added.
