India's second largest carmaker Hyundai Motor India has set a milestone today by rolling out its 5 Millionth car from its manufacturing facility in Irrungattukottai, near Chennai. The privilege to become the 50th lakh car is the company's newly launched Grand i10. Hyundai India's brand Ambassador Shahrukh Khan too was present at the event, who too has been with the brand ever since its introduction.
The Korean carmaker has successfully completed 15 years in India. With an investment of USD 2.7 bllion till date, Hyundai has a production capacity of 6.8 lakh cars in the Indian market. Hyundai's 4% contribution in the overall Tamil Nadu's GDP speaks of the kind of success Hyundai has seen over these years. Hyundai is also the largest car exporter in the country with 46% export market share.
