To celebrate its 20 years of operation in the country, Hyundai has launched a special edition of the Xcent at Rs 6.22 lakh for the petrol, while the diesel variant has been tagged at Rs 7.15 lakh (All-prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). The special edition model of the car is available only on the S trim level. It is a limited edition, as the production of the version is limited to 2400 units.
Announcing the launch of Special Edition Xcent, Mr Rakesh Srivastava, Sr VP Sales and Marketing, HMIL, said, “It has been a momentous two decades for Hyundai in India. In a short span of time we have emerged as India’s most loved automobile brand. It is our continuous effort to gauge changing customer preferences and keep introducing new technology in our products to offer high value to our customers. Xcent has emerged as India’s most loved family sedan and we are confident that the Special Edition will further enhance the excitement among the customers.”
Speaking of the exclusivity in the edition, the car carries a a '20th anniversary' celebration badge on the boot, chrome garnishing on the lower front grille, side-body graphics, boot lid spoiler with a reflector strip, an additional chrome finishing to the rear lid. Inside, the limited edition features a new sporty black and red dual-tone fabric upholstery and a 6.2 inch Blaupunkt touchscreen infotainment system. The special edition costs an additional Rs 16,999 over the regular S version of the Xcent.
Under the hood, the 20th anniversary edition Xcent will be powered by the same unit as the current model. The 1.2-litre Kappa petrol unit is capable of delivering 82bhp of power and 113.7Nm of torque, while the 1.1-litre diesel mill can pour a power of 71 bhp and 180Nm of max torque, where the transmission duties are catered by an 5-speed manual gearbox. The special edition is available in two colour options - Pure White and Sleek Silver.
