The next-generation Hyundai Santa Fe is on its way and the testing of the SUV from the Korean manufacturer has already begun in the country. MotorVikatan has managed to get a few pictures of under the shroud test cars from Hyundai. Hyundai may put these vehicles on their AutoExpo stand next month during the AutoExpo.

The new Santa Fe is has been redesigned extensively and is now on a new platform altogether. The 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe is 40mm longer and 5mm wider, with the roofline dropping by 45mm, Hyundai new Santa Fe looks more aggressive and sporty.

The 2014 Santa Fe is based on the latest Storm Edge design language which is replacing the current fluidic design language of the Korean giant. The new Santa Fe also possesses amazing quality interiors with a long list of equipment.

Even though Hyundai will continue to put the same 2.2 liter diesel engine equipped with VGT (Variable Geometry Turbo) in the Indian version, the International models will get a 2 liter turbo and 2.4 liter naturally aspirated petrol model.

It will be the same old heart in a new casing for Indian market, the 194 bhp producing with 440Nm torque engine would receive minor changes to increase the fuel efficiency and lower the emissions. The engine would be mated with a six-speed transmission of manual and automatic choice.

Hyundai Santa Fe did not take off in India due to the brand’s economical image. Hyundai will surely try to change the scenario with the new launch. Stay tuned for the latest updates at AutoPortal.com
