With the launch of the new Hyundai Santro, there is no doubt that the figure would soar, but the rise in figures in such a short span of time simply speaks the demand of the new hatch. The new Santro has already bagged over 30,000 bookings, out of which 30 percent of the variants are AMT version and 21 percent counts for CNG variants and the rest of the 49 percent are of the petrol manual. It is offered in five variants along with two variants of both petrol-AMT and CNG.
The base variant of the hatchback gets a price tag of Rs 3.89 lakh, whereas the AMT and CNG variant comes with a starting tag of Rs 5.18 lakh and Rs 5.23 lakh (ex-showroom, India), respectively. The car is offered in 7 exterior colours that also include two new colours – Imperial Beige (new), Diana Green (new), Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Marina Blue, Stardust and Fiery Red.
In terms of equipment, the new Hyundai Santro comes packed with many first-in-segment features a7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay & Mirror Link connectivity, rear parking camera, rear AC vents, keyless entry, all four power windows, etc. to name a few. While for the safety, it comes with driver’s side airbag and anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution as standard fitments, whereas dual airbags, rear parking sensors and impact sensing auto door unlock are offered in the top-end version.

Under the bonnet, the new Hyundai Santro is powered by a 1.1-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 68bhp of maximum power at 5500rpm and 99Nm of top torque. Both the manual and AMT variants are claimed to return a good efficiency of 20.3kmpl. While the same engine with CNG kit produces 58bhp of power with 84Nm of torque while returning a mileage of 30.48km/kg.
