Hyundai India unveiled the flagship variant by the brand, Genesis G90. It does not follow the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy, but Hyundai has given one of the most pleasing aesthetics to this Hyundai sedan. Currently in its second generation, as it has replaced Hyundai Equus that was available only in left-hand drive originally, and now comes with a right-hand drive version in its second generation.
Inside the G90, it features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system display, 9.2-inch tablets mounted to the rear of the front seat headrests for rear passenger entertainment, 3-zone climate control, and double glass insulation for minimized NVH levels. The rear seat features a central console in the middle that allows rear passengers to control the electronics of the car.
Genesis G90 gets a myriad of features fitted as standard include the Smart Boot System, which automatically opens the boot if the smart key is detected within close proximity for longer than three seconds. Smart Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking and the world’s first CO2 cabin sensor, which monitors the quality of the cabin environment and helps protect the driver from the dangers of drowsiness. Four cameras offer a 360-degree view of the vehicle at all times, providing assistance to the Rear Cross Traffic Alert system which warns drivers of approaching hazards when reversing from a parking space.
Blind Spot Detection monitors traffic around the car while on the road and warns of approaching hazards. A head-up display projects important information into the driver’s line of sight, puddle lights, featuring the Genesis logo, illuminate the area around the doors, which are equipped with an automatic-closing mechanism.
Under the hood, the Genesis G90 will be offered in four variants – 3.0-litre Lambda II GDi petrol with 249 PS and 304 Nm of torque, 3.3-litre Lambda GDi petrol with 282 PS and 347 Nm of torque, 3.8-litre Lambda II Gdi petrol with 315 PS and 397 Nm of torque, 5.0-litre Tau GDi petrol with 413 PS and 505 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are done by an 8-speed automatic transmission system which send drives to the rear wheels. The Genesis G90 is also offered with AWD equipped with Hyundai's H-TRAC system.
