Country’s leading premium car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India has unveiled the design expressions of upcoming new Global SU, the all-new Tucson. Hyundai Tucson is the first SUV with the company’s new philosophy of ‘Innovation of Fundamentals’ that not only showcases safety and durability, but also performance, ride & handling along with Low NVH levels.

Tucson is a native American name which portrays an image of a ‘Strong Sun’ lending a premium character with performance to the Brand. Tucson  is the 1st SUV created with Hyundai Motor’s new development philosophy  of ‘Innovation of Fundamentals’ showcasing Safety, Performance, Ride & Handling, Durability and Low NVH through continuous innovations which are customer centric.

It is based on Hyundai’s next generation and evolved Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 (FS2.0) design philosophy. The Tucson is designed to convey ‘Style and Dynamism’ and also expresses it’s progressive spirit and passion. The company also aims to set a new standard of design with the new Tucson in the premium SUV segment.

Inside, the Tucson would boast of many high-end features such as an 8-inch infotainment system with navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, automatic parking, drive selector system, 8-way electrically adjustable front seats, steering mounted audio controls, etc. to name a few.

In India, Hyundai Tucson will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options, where the petrol variant will most likely to come in base variants only and will draw its power from a 2.0L 4-cylinder MPI engine that makes 150bhp of top power and 195Nm of peak torque (same as seen in the recently launched all-new Elantra sedan). The diesel variant would be a 2.0-litre four cylinder CRDi engine that would develop power in two trims - 134bhp and 181bhp. The powertrain will come coupled with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed auto transmission and the company could also introduce a 4X4 drive system.

The 3rd Generation Tucson is scheduled launch in November, 2016 and is expected to be priced between Rs 17 lakh – 22 lakh (ex showroom).
