The country’s leading car manufacturer, Hyundai India has dropped the first teaser of the Hyundai Tucson that will make its Indian premiere at the Auto Expo 2016. The all-new Hyundai Tucson was first showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The new Tucson is expected to arrive in showrooms across India in the second quarter this year. It is likely to be brought into the country via CKD route.
The teaser image shows the front fascia of the SUV dominated by the Hyundai’s signature logo on the hexagonal grille with three horizontal chrome slats. The grille is edged by LED headlamps with the flow lines appears to be the company’s fluidic design theme. In the Indian market, the Tucson will be positioned between the popular Hyundai Creta and the company’s flagship model, the Hyundai Santa Fe.
In international market, the All-New Tucson will be available with one of the widest powertrain ranges in its class. These include two gasoline engines: 1.6L GDI with 135 PS of top power or 1.6L T-GDI with 176 PS of maximum power – plus three diesel options: 1.7L with 115 PS of power, 2.0L standard power with 136 PS of power or 2.0L high power with 184 PS of maxm power. The new turbocharged 176 PS 1.6-litre T-GDI engine can be paired with either a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT) or a six-speed manual.
