The Korean auto-giant, Hyundai, is expected to showcase its first electric concept model at the 2018 Auto Expo. The EV is most likely to be a sedan from the manufacturer, which will be the first of its kind from the manufacturer in the Indian market.
The Korean car manufacturer has kept its electric plans for the Indian market on hold till now. But, looking at the current scenario, where the Government of India is pushing forward to electrify the cars by 2030, Hyundai is also planning to introduce its first electric car for India.
Hyundai has not made any official announcement on the same and no technical details are available on the upcoming electric sedan from the manufacturer as of now. However, Hyundai is also expected to consider its all-electric SUV, Hyundai Kona to launch in India.
Apart from the electric concept model, the 2018 Auto Expo will also witness a debut of a new hatchback from Hyundai. The model has not been unveiled and is internally known as ‘ Hyundai Family Concept’. It is most likely to replace the Hyundai Eon and Hyundai i10. The testing mule of the car has already been spied being tested on the roads. It will flaunt a ‘tall boy’ appearance with a high roof, which will offer a spacious cabin for the occupants' comfort. The model is expected to rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Tata Tiago.
The facelift variant of Hyundai’s popular premium hatchback, Hyundai Elite i20, can also be showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo and is likely to be commenced in February. The facelift model features a completely reframed front fascia with a new cascading hexagonal grille, LED headlamps with DRLs and also a newly designed bumper. The car will run on a new set of alloy wheels, inspired by those of the Mercedes CLA. The cabin of the car is also expected to be updated with some premium touch.
Motorsports lover will also have the opportunity to witness the unveiling of Hyundai’s WRC car, which is also the part of Hyundai’s list of products to be displayed at the Auto Expo 2018.
