Hyundai India has finally launched the Venue sub-compact SUV at a starting price of Rs 6.50 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, New Delhi) in the country. Being available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims, it will be offered in five variants: E, S, SX, SX dual tone and SX (O). Hyundai Venue bookings had already commenced from May 2, 2019 at a token amount of Rs 21,000 across all the company authorized dealerships. Based on the Carlino concept, the first sub 4-meter SUV from the South-Korean automaker will be up against the likes of Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon.
Hyundai Venue will be available in a total of ten paint schemes, out of three are dual-tone shades. It can be availed in Typhoon Silver, Polar White, Fiery Red, Denim Blue, Stardust Grey and Lava Orange mono tones while dual tone color options are Denim Blue/Polar White, Polar White/Phantom Black and Lava Orange/Phantom Black. The SUV will debut several first-in-segment features such as Wireless Smartphone charging, Automatic air-conditioner with Air purifier, BlueLink smart connectivity with 10 exclusive features and an 8.0-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the safety front, dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and ISOFIX seat anchors will be available as standard across all the variants.
Mechanically, Hyundai Venue will be available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims with a total of 3 engine options. The petrol variants will be offered with the naturally aspirated 1.2L Kappa engine which does duties to the Grand i10. This engine will develop top power of 82bhp at 6000rpmand peak torque of 115Nm at 4000rpm while mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard with mileage figures of 17.52kmpl. The diesel variants will come with a 1.4L turbo U2 CRDi engine with maximum power output of 89bhp at 4000rpm and 220Nm between 1500-2750rpm. It is linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox with fuel efficiency of 23.70kmpl. Hyundai Venue is introducing the 1.0L 3-cylinder T-GDi petrol engine in India which will belt out 118bhp at 6000rpm and 172Nm between 1500-4000rpm. It will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a first-in-segment 7-speed dual clutch auto transmission with fuel economy figures of 18.27kmpl and 18.15kmpl, respectively.
