Hyundai India recently spearheaded into the sub-four meter SUV space with Venue. With over a month of Hyundai Venue’s launch, it has amassed aplenty orders. In fact, the model garnered 15,000 pre-orders implying its popularity among customers. It is reported that high demand for the SUV has extended the Hyundai Venue waiting period up to 3 months based on the variant and fuel type.
One of the factors driving sales of the newly launched model is its competitive pricing. That said, the Hyundai Venue price in India starts from Rs 6.50 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the cheapest subcompact SUVs in India. Not to forget the list of features that are offered with it and compelling looks which makes it a viable package for customers at affordable pricing. While Hyundai Venue is getting ample orders, the monthly production is restricted to just 8000 to 9000 units, further adding to delay in supply.
Talking of Hyundai Venue specifications, it is available in three choices-two petrol and one diesel unit. There is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit which powers the entry-level variants. In terms of power, it makes 83 PS against top torque of 115Nm and is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine makes 120 PS with 172 Nm torque and is offered with a standard 6-speed unit along with an optional 7-speed DCT transmission. Diesel variant derives power from a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine with 90 PS and 220Nm torque. It is available in a single six-speed manual unit.
Coming to the list of features, the competitively priced Hyundai Venus packs an electric sunroof, air purifier, rear AC vents, 8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system supported by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charger and Arkamys sound system among several others. The new entrant in the subcompact SUV space pits against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon.
