The South Korean auto major Hyundai has launched its all new Verna sedan in China. The new sedan is based on the Hyundai Verna concept car which was showcased earlier in China. Hyundai has also showcased the production ready version of the Verna in China earlier this year.

Hyundai hasn’t revealed anything about the Verna’s launch in India, however it should be priced from INR 7.20 lakhs to 10.45lakhs for the top of the line variant. The Hyundai Verna 2017 that is available in China, has been launched with two petrol engine options. Those options are a 1.4-litre VTVT four-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 105 BHP of maximum power and 135 Nm of maximum torque, the other variant comes with a bigger 1.6-litre VTVT four-cylinder petrol mill that makes 121 BHP of power with 155 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a  6-speed manual and an automatic transmission unit. The Indian variant of the car will come with the same petrol variants while the car will also get a diesel variant which will be powered by a  1.6-litre CRDi unit that can produce 126 BHP of power and 265 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will remain the same as that of the Chinese model.

The all new Verna is based on the Hyundai’s trademark Fluidic 2.0 design, the new generation Hyundai Verna is more angular than the outgoing model and it bears many resemblance to the all-new Elantra sedan.. We can see the swept back headlamps are reminiscent of the ones on the existing model but due to the better overall design of the car, the face of the sedan now looks sharper and edgy. The headlight unit comes fitted with projector lights, LED DRLs, and the bumper gets angular fog lamps.

The interiors of the all new-generation Verna bears resemblance to that of the new Elantra. The all-black cabin looks premium than before and it also gets silver finish all over the dash. Then, the steering wheel houses the switches for bluetooth, cruise control and the trip meter. The center console holds a large 8-inch infotainment system with touchscreen display which will also get Apple carplay and Google auto. Other features will include auto climate control, sunroof, push button start and much more.
