- 2020 Hyundai Verna to get floating touchscreen system.
- 2020 Hyundai Verna will come with BS 6 petrol and diesel engines.
Hyundai, the South-Korean automaker, has unveiled the 2020 Solaris (Verna) sedan in Russia. The India-spec model of 2020 Hyundai Verna will be similar to the one showcased in the Russian market as the pre-facelifted versions are also exactly identical. There were rumors that India-spec 2020 Hyundai Verna will be making its public debut at the 2020 Auto Expo with launch expected in Q2 2020, but nothing of this sort has happened yet.
Speaking of the 2020 Verna facelift, it flaunts a sporty front fascia with full-LED headlamps and a new blackened out V-shaped radiator grille. The bumpers are edgier than before while the fog lamp units and air intakes have been tweaked as well. The side profile is carried over from the ongoing model except for the newly-designed alloy wheels. The rear end gets a redesigned bumper and tail-lamps with new graphics alongside a faux diffuser. The cabin comes with several updates as compared to the current model with fresh look given to air vents. There is a floating touchscreen infotainment system with the new sedan.
Mechanically, the 2020 Verna facelift is expected to get the BS 6 compliant 1.5L petrol and diesel engines with 113bhp as top power output. Both the engines will be linked to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard while the petrol engine might also get a CVT gearbox. The word is that the diesel motor might also get a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit as optional. Hyundai Verna will challenge the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento in the Indian market while the prices are expected to start around Rs 9 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
