Iannone will race for Team Ducati in 2015
Snapshot: The Italian racer will replace Cal Crutchlow, who will head to LCR Honda for the 2015 season
A few days ago, we had written about Team Ducati planning to have new factory racers. Well, it has been confirmed now. Andrea Iannone is joining Team Ducati for the 2015 MotoGP season as Cal Crutchlow has decided to leave the Italian team by terminating the contract a year ahead of its schedule. Iannone will join Team Ducati leaving Pramac Racing which is joined last year after upgrading from Moto2. His team-mate will be Andrea Dovizioso who has decided to stay with the team beating all the rumours about his exit. This all-Italian line-up might upset some of the decisions as many racers have agree to the fact that if given a good bike, Iannone is a force to reckon with on a good day.
Ducati confirmed the development by saying, "Ducati Corse announced today that it has reached an agreement with its factory rider Cal Crutchlow to terminate, ahead of time, the contract that ties the British rider to the Italian team in MotoGP for 2014 and also for next season. The two factory Ducati Team riders for 2015 will now be Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone."
