The pictures of the brand new BMW i8, which is set to make its official appearance on September 10th at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show has been leaked on the internet. The details of the car have not yet officially been disclosed by the company. But an executive teaser video of the i8 has been let out, that video is completely darkened with only a few things like the ORVMs, door opening and front grille visible. The vehicle is expected to be 4674 mm long, 1930 mm wide, and 1270 mm tall.
The Images focus on the sections that has been revised, when compared to earlier versions of BMWs that appeared in the year 2009. Those images can give a brief idea on the textures, shapes and design elements of the car, except for the engine part. The interior designs are completely shown on the pictures, the dashboard and the seats are visible from the side. The picture of the whole Cabin is simply cool, but mostly looks like a conception rather than an actual one. The doors have a stylish cut, and doesn’t have a huge window glass now.
The BMW i8 consists of a petrol-electric system with a turbocharged 1.5 liter engine with a capacity 228 BHP and is placed in between the rear axles. Between front and rear it weighs nearly 50:50. The power is transmitted through a six speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels, whereas the two stage automatic gearboxes is used for the front wheels . Emission of co2 is less, approximately 59 grams/km. It can hold 2+2 passengers. The car is also competent to run more than 500 km to 600 km when it’s fully charged/fuel tank is filled. The central portion is designed similar to the i3 with a high emphasis life module, drive module with gas burning engine, electric motor and all electronic products. Meanwhile it’s estimated that it scales nearly 1451 kilograms.
