India is becoming a global platform for manufacturers all over the world to showcase and launch their latest products in the country. Over the time, our market has seen entries of even the most exotic motorcycle brands like MV Agusta and BMW Motorrad.The two-wheeler market is expanding year on year, and as a result, India has now become the largest motorcycle maker in the world. India sold 17.5 million motorcycles during the last fiscal 2016-2017 making it the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world overtaking China.
Most of the motorcycle sold are the commuter segment motorcycles and the only 125cc plus capacity motorcycle in the top selling bikes is the Royal Enfield Classic 350. The Chennai based motorcycle maker alone sold over 700,000 motorcycles in India last year and the number keeps on going up year on year, as Royal Enfield has also expanded its manufacturing capacity in the recent times.
