The upcoming 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class codenamed W213 has just been rendered by German publication Auto Bild. Based on the MRA (Mercedes Rear-wheel drive Architecture) platform, the car looks more-or-like the new C-Class and the bigger S-Class. E-Class is the middle level luxury sedan from the German automajor which sits below S-Class and above C-Class.
The rendered images clearly shows how deeply the new E-Class is inspired from the S-Class. The dimensions will be bigger and the lines will be more curvy. Like exteriors, the interiors will be substantially revamped and a more plusher cabin on the lines of the S-Class will make its way. The luxury sedan will get a new COMAND system, circular AC vents, and an overall bump in plushness.
The new E-Class or the W213 will get a major update in terms of engine. The current engine options include V6 units which will be switched to a more powerful inline-6 units according to AutoBild. The E63 variant which for now gets a V8 5.5 litre unit, will get a new 4.0 litre V8 mill while a hybrid engine will also be added later in the lifecycle of the sedan.
While the launch of the car is not yet confirmed, it is speculated that the car will be launched somewhere around early next year in the European markets. In India, the E-Class is the best selling model for the Mercedes-Benz and the company will launch the sedan in 2016 only. It will rival against the BMW 5- series, Jaguar XF, Audi A6.
