Skoda has officially released the first image of 2016 Superb saloon ahead of its much anticipated world premiere. The global debut would take place in this month only in Prague, followed by the public showcasing at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show. The designing cues for the India-bound next-generation Superb are taken from Vision C show car, which was revealed at last year's Geneva Motor Show. The company describes the interior of the new Superb as "more modern, elegant and sophisticated" than the preceding model.
As claimed by Skoda, the third-generation Superb combines spaciousness, functionality and design in a truly unique way. With further improvements to the interior dimensions, the Czech automaker has brought the qualities of higher-class vehicles into the automotive mid-class. Several premium features such as dual-zone climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, cruise control, voice command, auto-parking assist and perforated and heated leather seats would be offered with the second iteration of the Skoda's flagship saloon.
Additionally, unrivaled amount of room, a new level of comfort, new technical solutions and high-quality, and precise workmanship, makes the 2016 Skoda Superb a truly trend-setter in its segment. The official image released by the company showcases Laurin & Klement variant, which is the fully-speced, range-topping variant in the new Superb line-up.
Underpinning the Volkswagen group's highly versatile MQB platform as the new Volkswagen Passat, it would be offered with a set of 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The engines would come mated to manual as well DSG automatic transmission. For your information, all-new Skoda Superb and new Volkswagen Passat share over 50 percent of components.
It is expected to be launched in India around the 2016 Indian Auto Expo, replacing the current-generation model.
