After unveiling the Brio based MPV Mobilio at the 2013 Indonesia International Motor Show in September, Honda has now put the vehicle on display at a regional auto show in Makassar, Indonesia. Before the vehicle goes on sale next year, the Japanese auto major wishes to get the customer feedback through such activities. Honda will also display the vehicle at the 2013 Indian Auto Expo in January.
The Indonesian market will get the Mobilio MPV in petrol only option featuring Honda City's 1.5-litre i-VTEC, while in India, it will be made available both in the petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel engined Mobilio will sport the similar 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel mill, which also does duty to the Honda Amaze. The slightly tuned version of the similar engine will also power the next generation Honda City.
Coming in three trim levels- S, E, E CVT, Honda Mobilio will be offered with both the manual and automatic transmission gearboxes. Both the 5-speed manual and 5-speec CVT automatic gearbox are likely to be the same powering Honda Amaze. Though the company hasn't yet announced the pricing of the vehicle, both in India and Indonesia, it will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. So, we are expecting the vehicle to be priced around Rs 6-7 lakh for the Indian market.
Other than the Mobilio MPV, next generation Honda City and new generation Jazz and an Urban SUV are three products lined-up to be launched in the Indian market. The all new City has already been scheduled to make its global debut in India next month.
