Audi has uncovered the all-new A6 luxury sedan at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show and the car is likely to launch in India sometime next year. The new Audi A6 sedan comes retaining the same basic silhouette, but the refreshing changes like new LED headlamps, new taillights and subtle design updates have played important role in making the sedan much more appealing compared to its predecessor. It comes sharper and more stylish bearing the German brand’s latest design language.
The new Audi A6 sedan gets the auto manufacturer’s latest front grille that has been taken from the Audi Prologue concept. The sharp headlamps come with Matrix LED lighting technology. Muscular front bumper with large air dams at both ends of the bumper add more style. The bonnet gets crisp and sharp character lines. Apart from that, it gets stylish alloy wheels, sharper character lines and new design LED taillights as well.
Dimensionally, the eighth-generation Audi A6 sedan comes 7 mm longer, 12 mm wider and 2 mm taller compared to the seventh-generation model. The wheelbase too is 12 mm bigger than its predecessor. Inside the cabin, new Audi A6 has become more luxurious and feature packed. It gets the virtual cockpit at the instrument cluster, while the centre console gets a larger touchscreen infotainment system with various advanced high-end connectivity options.
Thanks to the dimensional upgrade, it offers more space to the occupants, while the seat and upholstery material quality have been improved. On the powertrain front, it gets 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engines on both petrol and diesel segment. Transmission options include a 7-speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic unit as well. Audi has equipped the car with its Quattro AWD system as standard.
