Toyota has released a teaser of its upcoming sedan, the Vios. The Toyota Vios is scheduled to launch at the Auto Expo 2018 on February 7th, 2018.
What’s interesting is that the India-bound Toyota Vios will be different from the global variant. In fact, it is a low-cost version of the Toyota Yaris Ativ that has already made it presence in other markets like Thailand.
The India-bound Toyota Vios will be powered by a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine, which can generate a maximum power of 105 bhp and peak torque of 140 Nm. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission in base variants and a CVT unit in the high-end variants.
As for the dimensions, the Toyota Vios would have a length of 4,425 mm, width of 1,730 mm, height of 1,475 mm and wheelbase of 2,550 mm. The ground clearance is 133 mm for the international variant, but this can be increased for the India-bound version.
A fully-loaded Indian-spec Toyota Vios will have dual-tone interior, beige upholstery, keyless entry, automatic climate control, reverse parking camera and a touchscreen infotainment system. Once launched the Toyota Vios should be up against the cars like Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz and Honda City.
