During the launch of the Kawasaki Z1000 and the Ninja 1000 recently, India Kawasaki Motors (IKM) announced that it would bring a new product in January next year but company kept a mum over the details of the bike. However, the presence of Z800 in Kawasaki India’s exclusive dealership in Pune, clearly indicates at its arrival in India.
The Kawasaki Z800, a successor to highly-successful Z750, is one of the best looking naked machines from Japanese manufacturer's stable. Carrying the famous 'Z' family legacy forward, the Z800 will give a kick-start to a new segment of high powered mid-weight naked streetfighters in the country.
The naked machine comes with a 806 cc liquid-cooled DOHC motor that churns out 113 PS of peak power @ 10,200 rpm and 83 Nm of torque @ 8,000 rpm mated to a six-speed transmission box.
Built on a tubular backbone chassis design, the Z800 boasts of a set of 41mm adjustable KYB upside-down front forks and a monoshock suspension for the rear. For braking, a semi-floating 310 mm petal discs is fixed at the front and a 250mm petal disc does its duty at the rear.
The Kawasaki Z800 will be built in Thailand and will arrive in India via Complete Knocked Down (CKD) route. We expect Z800 to have an ex-showroom price of around INR 8 lakhs.
