It has been a long time since the world has been speculating about the new smaller capacity Versys. Kawasaki has unveiled the model update for almost all of the current motorcycles in the list. But according to the invitation, the Japanese two-wheeler maker does not reveal much details but states that “it will be an all new small-capacity machine”.
So if it’s an all new small capacity motorcycle, it terminates all the possibility of being an updated Ninja 300 or a Z250. So the options are now trimmed to the quarter-litre Kawasaki Versys. New Versys will be based on the Z250 or we can say, Versys will basically be a Z250 with a semi-fairing and different shocks. As we just mentioned, it will also be sharing the engine which propels in Z250 and also the long discontinued Ninja 250. The engine churns out around 32-33bhp of maximum power, and will make a lot of sense being used in a dual-sports motorcycle like Versys.
There is no official confirmation that the new bike is Versys 250 or anything else. According to the reports, Kawasaki will be launching the new smaller capacity motorcycle on December 11-12 in Spain. Let us know your views on the same in the comment section below.
