Suzuki Swift, also sold by Maruti Suzuki as Maruti Swift in India is one of the most successful hatchback not only in India, but also globally. The sporty character of the popular hatchback has been celebrated by the tuners all around the world, but none could match the sheer madness of the Suzuki Swift we are here to talk about today.
This particular Suzuki Swift is a maniac with 350 horses on tap and is modified by Japan based D-Language racing team. The folks from D-Language opted for a 120 HP Suzuki Swift Sport as the donor car and heavily tuned the 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The modifications bumped up the power by almost 230 hp, a record of some sought, considering no one has been able to extract such amount of power from the hatchback.
To extract such raw power, the tuners added a large turbocharger to the engine and also a number of race-specific parts. The massive power is sent to the front wheels via the stock six speed manual transmission. Racing alloy wheels with 295/30 section Yokohama rubber will add the grip to the car. Just so you know, India-spec petrol swift gets a 1.2-litre 80-odd bhp motor with a 5-speed manual transmission.
While there's the usual downforce kit including a front splitter, side skirts and a huge rear spoiler outside the car, the inside of the Swift has been stripped down to its bare essentials like a rally race car. The bumped up Swift gets a roll cage, harnesses and racing bucket seat for the interiors. The tuners also lowered the suspension and added carbon fibre bits for better aerodynamics.
The tuned Suzuki Swift is not street legal as of now and is strictly meant for track purposes only. So if you are planning for an upgrade like this, a bit of disappointment welcomes you. Only a track day could harness the full potential for such a mod-job. As for us, we are happy with our stock hatch, for it can beat the fellow rivals hands down!
