Maruti Baleno was spied doing some test rounds in Cochin, and this model is not the current version, but the export variant of the Suzuki Baleno. This Baleno is packed with Suzuki’s new 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine. Reportedly, the new Maruti Baleno is expected to be launched in mid-2016 in India. We can see, a Black-coloured Baleno in the spyshots, while this is a colour that is not offered in the ongoing Baleno models.

This Baleno is said to have some additional safety features that will be offered, including side airbags, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, disc brakes on all wheels, and a radar-based Emergency Braking System. A different design of alloy wheels can be seen in the picture, it is likely to be a Euro-spec model.

Talking about the engine, the 1.0-litre three cylinder BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine is capable to dish out 110 HP of maximum power and 170 Nm of peak torque, which will be paired with a 7-speed Dual Shift Gearbox (DSG). While, the former has a 1.2-litre four-cylinder K-Series petrol engine offered in India produces 83 bhp and 115 Nm connected to a five-speed manual transmission.
