To accommodate more and more number of tourists every year during the time of IOM TT, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company (SPC) has increased the load carrying capacity of one of its fast craft. Addition of an extra mezzanine deck will make extra space for 300 motorcycles which is 30% more than the previous number of motorcycles it could carry. During the 2014 TT SPC carried more than 12,100 motorcycles each way, and looking at the speculations the turnout this time is expected to be much more than 2014's.

This is an annual ritual now where motorcyclists from across the world reach Isle of Man during the two week long event when the highly respected Tourist Trophy (TT) takes place. As the Isle of Man is not connected to the world by roads, ferries remain the only option for the tourists and their motorcycles to reach there.

Commenting on this, Mark Woodward, CEO, SPC said, "The continued growth in the popularity of the TT has led to significant increases in demand for travel during the festival. We have invested heavily over the years to significantly expand our vehicle capacity for the TT. In the short term, this will allow for more motorcycles to be carried on the most popular crossings and we anticipate an additional 1,500 to 2,000 visiting motorcycles during the 2015 TT."
