Isuzu Motors has announced the commencement of bookings for its much awaited adventure utility vehicle, the D-Max V-Cross, which is available at an inaugural price of Rs 12.49 Lakhs (Ex-showroom, Chennai). Being manufactured at the recently inaugurated Isuzu’s manufacturing plant at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, the V-Cross’ delivery will start from July 2016 onwards. The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross was showcased for the first time at the 2016 Auto Expo.
The design of the D-Max V-Cross is similar to the standard D-Max, but still it can be distinguished as it gets beefed up appearance with chrome garnished front grille, higher ground clearance, roof rails, ORVM, door handles and 16-inch alloy wheels. Inside, it features automatic climate control, 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, electro-luminescent meters with MID (Multi Information Display) and steering-mounted audio controls. It also gets dual front airbags and ISOFIX anchors for child seats.
The V-Cross is designed for the Indian adventure seekers and the chassis frame is based on iGRIP technology (Isuzu Gravity Response Intelligent Platform) that ensures greater stability even at high speeds and sharp curves. The D-Max V-Cross draws its power from a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, delivering the power of 132bhp and torque of 320Nm @ 1800 – 3200 rpm. The engine is connected to a 5-speed manual gearbox with easy shift mechanism and the fly-by-shift mechanism for 4WD mode.
