But Isuzu India has already planned to raise the capacity to to 120,000 units/ year eventually and is expected to generate 2000 - 3000 jobs. Our investment showcases our commitment to India and we look forward to gradually increase our presence in the country. By introducing the globally popular Isuzu pick-up trucks and SUVs, we are quite confident that our fuel efficient and durable products will match the needs of the customers in India.”
The event also saw Isuzu’s Motor vehicle Training kit being presented to Mr. J.C. Sharma, Principal Secretary to Government, A.P. The training kit consists of an engine assembly, chassis, transmission and steering systems designed to provide practical automobile education to aspiring students. And considering the growing demand for diesel cars in India and the need for skilled manpower for related technology, Isuzu has also decided to provide advanced automobile diesel engine training at ITI Tirupati for the ITI technical staff.
The new production facility is not the only Isuzu initiative to establish its presence in the country; they intend to open exclusive dealerships in Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Cochin, Bangalore, Tirupati, Vishakapatnam, Madurai and Delhi by the end of March 2014.
