Japanese automaker Isuzu Motors in its endeavour of expanding dealer network in India have opened its 10th showroom in the country and the first one in North India today in New Delhi. By the end of the next financial year, the company hopes to take this number to abound 60 outlets.
Isuzu Motors also launched the range of D-Max pick-up trucks in the National Capital Region (NCR) today, which comprises of three variants, two cabin options and two deck options. The D-Max Single Cab version has been priced at Rs 5.89 lakh, while the D-Max Space Cab Flat Deck and Space Cab Arched Deck will retail at Rs 6.09 lakh and Rs 6.99 lakh respectively (All prices are ex-showroom NCR & are introductory.)
Commenting on the occasion, Takashi Kikuchi, managing director of Isuzu Motors India said, “The Delhi outlet is our 10th dealership in the country. We plan to expand the number to 60 by the end of 2015-16 to increase our presence in the country.
The Japanese automaker plans to add new dealership in Noida, Jaipur and Ludhiana by the end of this financial year, and in Chandigargh, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Kanpur and Udaipur by the end of the next year. “We are extremely happy to open our first outlet in North India. North is an important region for us, contributing to around 30 per cent of total pick-up sales in the country.” Kikuchi further said.
Isuzu Motors is also planning to set up a manufacturing plant in the country with an investment of Rs 3,000 crore that is slated to become operational by 2016. The said facility will initially feature a production capacity of 50,000 units that will be later scaled up to over 1 lakh units per annum.
