Jack Miller scores his first ever MotoGP victory in Dutch TT at Assen

Snapshot: It was Miller’s first ever MotoGP victory and now he has become the first Australian to win a MotoGP after Casey Stoner’s final victory in Phillip Island.

Yesterday’s rain-affected Dutch TT at Assen was one of the most dramatic races of the season. The race started in full wet condition and after some laps the condition went on to become so complicated that the race was red flagged and was restarted after 15 laps. Repsol Honda factory racer, Marc Marquez grabbed the second position in the race but it was the Australia’s star rider Jack Miller who seized the day with his astonishing victory in the rain affected Dutch TT. Jorge Lorenzo struggled throughout the race and scored 10th position while Rossi was crashed out of the race.

It was Miller’s first ever MotoGP victory and now he has become the first Australian to win a MotoGP race after Casey Stoner’s final victory in Phillip Island. Apart from this, Miller made a record of winning a MotoGP race on a non-factory bike after 12 years since Toni Elias won the Portuguese GP in 2006. After Dutch TT at Assen, the championship is currently leaded by Marc Marquez followed by Lorenzo and Rossi at third.
