Jaguar Land Rover announced the launch of its crossover, Jaguar F-PACE on October 20, 2016 in India. Though, the company has revealed the price of the model, starting at Rs 68.40 lakh (Ex showroom, Delhi). The F-pace is the first crossover product making Jaguar and will be retailed as a CBU in the country. It will be available in four trim levels - Pure, Prestige, R-Sport and the top-spec First Edition. The model will be pitted against the Porsche Macan S, Mercedes-Benz GLE and Audi Q5.
Based on the CX-17 Concept, the Jaguar F-PACE made its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015. Being a crossover, the model is identical to the company’s entry-level product, XE and the all-new XF and based on Jaguar’s new lightweight aluminium architecture. Dimensionally, the F-pace measures 4731mm in overall length with a width of 2175mm, the stance makes it 1651mm tall, while it sits on a wheelbase of 2874mm. The front fascia of the model features LED headlamps with 'J' blade DRLs and will ride on Indian roads over 2- inch alloy wheels.
Inside the Crossover, it will come with a plethora of advanced technology such as a 10.2-inch InControl touchscreen infotainment system with 380W Meridian Sound System, 12.3-inch instrument cluster, ambient mood lighting and panoramic sunroof. It will also feature Jaguar Land Rover’s All Surface Progress Control (ASPC) system, a low-speed cruise control that keeps the car in control in low-traction.
Coming to the mechanicals, this Jaguar model will be offered in Diesel engines only. The base variant Pure and Prestige will be packed with a 2.0L turbocharged four cylinder diesel engine that will easily crank out 177 bhp of power and 430 Nm of top torque. The power unit will come paired with a 8-speed ZF automatic transmission along with an AWD system as standard. Jaguar claims that it can dash to 100 kmph in 8.7 seconds and has a top speed of 208 kmph.
The R-Sport and the First Edition would be power packed with a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel mill that’s good to belt out 296 bhp of maximum power with 700 Nm of top spin. This power unit too, come connected to a 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox with an AWD system. This power unit helps Jaguar F-Pace dash to 100 kmph from a standstill in just 6.2 seconds, before hitting a tops of 241 kmph. Recently, the Indian owned British marque also launch the all-new XF sedan.
