Jaguar's first-ever crossover SUV 'F-PACE' would have its world premiere at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The F-Pace is apparently going through its last phase of test runs before entering production. Jaguar F-Pace Crossover is based on C-X17 concept car, which was showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, followed by its official unveiling at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Jaguar’s global brand director Steven De Ploey confirmed to Autocar UK that F-Pace - being Jaguar's first crossover - would be totally a performance-oriented highway vehicle, contrary to its Land Rover siblings which would focus on off-roading. He further added that Jaguar expects the new 2015 XE and F-Pace to be the main volume gainers for the company. The name 'F-Pace' was revealed in January at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Jaguar F-Pace has been spied several times and even several renderings are out by sketch artists.
Although, nothing can be confirmed regarding the mechanicals of the crossover but it is highly expected that it would in-house company's new 2.0L Ingenium diesel engines and turbo-petrol engines. Inn addition, there would be a 3.0L V6 engine also for higher performance in top-end variants. It is also believed that Jaguar might also include the 5.0L V8 engine with Jaguar F-Pace. The petrol variants would be linked to an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel variants may get an optional 6-speed manual gearbox. The F-Pace's production will take place at the brand's plant in Solihull, UK.
