Jaguar is pacing up itself, where earlier we informed you that the Indian armed British marque is geared up to launch of the new XF, and according to the sources, Jaguar will the launch the F-Pace in the month of October. The SUV was showcased earlier at the 2016 Auto Expo and with the F-Pace, the company is making some space for itself in the SUV segment in the market.
The Jaguar F-Pace SUV is based on the Jaguar Land Rover's iQ (Al) modular platform that also underpins the XE sedan. Exterior wise, the car sports bold and aggressive looking front fascia and in terms performance, the car will be definitely great, as the company’s design director, Ian Callum has made it light light with a stiff body structure that comprises of 80 percent aluminium. While it will ride on big 22inch of alloy wheels. Inside, it will boast features like All Surface Progress Control (ASPC), Hill Hold Assist, cruise control, adaptive dynamics, JaguarDrive control, speed limiter, gesture tailgate, and more.
Under the skin, the F-Pace SUV will be power packed in a choice of two engines, as per the company’s official website. Both the power unit will be diesel fuelled with a 2.0-litre turbocharged Ingenium engine that is good to crank out 177 bhp with an all-wheel drive (AWD) and the power unit is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that is good to make it touch 100kmph mark in 8.7 seconds and a topspeed of 208kmph. Coming to the R-Sport and the top-spec First Edition are power packed with a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder mill that produces 296 bhp of maximum power with 700 NM of peak torque, which is sufficient enough to rush it from 0 - 100kmph in just 6.2 seconds.
When launched, the Jaguar F-Pace will rival with the BMW X6, Range Rover Evoque, and the Mercedes-Benz GLE coupe. The SUV is expected to start with a price tag of Rs 75 lakh.
