Tata Motors-owned luxury carmaker Jaguar Land Rover have announced record half-year sales in 2014 with total sales of over 2,40,000 vehicles since January 2014. With the healthy sales numbers, the British marquee has officially delivered more number of cars in the first six months of 2014 than in the whole of 2010.
The total sales of 2,40,000 units between January and June 2014, translates to a growth of 14 per cent when compared to the same period last year. While the Jaguar sales rose 16 per cent year-on-year, retailing 43,587 units, Land Rover contributed to the six-month sales number with 1,96,785 units.
“It is very encouraging to see both of our Jaguar and Land Rover brands delivering such strong performances for the first half of 2014. Ranger Rover Sport sales are up remarkably since the last year and, 21 months since it was rolled out, the Range Rover remains strong, with sales performance continuing to grow year-on-year.” said Andy Goss, JLR Group Sales Operations Director.
“Our top-selling model, the Range Rover Evoque also continues to show solid growth. For Jaguar, the F-Type continues to drive sales and raise brand awareness with more customers around the world.” Goss further added.
