While Tata Motors itself is facing a slump in sales, sans the newly launched Tata Tiago, which has received good reviews, Jaguar- Land Rover is doing real good in terms of the sales. The latest reports indicate that JLR posted a healthy 10% gain in the month on May 2016 as compared to the sales volume during the same time last year.
This is the fifth straight record-breaking month and the growth is credited to the newest product from Jaguar- the F-Pace. The F-Pace is the first SUV from the British luxury car manufacturer while its sister concern, Land Rover is famous as the off-roading experts. Jaguar-Land Rover managed to sell 44,946 vehicles 44,946 cars in the month of May 2016, as compared to 40500 odd units in May 2015.
Combine the sales figures for January to May 2016, JLR managed a cumulative sales of 2,45,100 units, 23 percent higher than the corresponding period in 2015. China was the highest contributor to the May sales number with 28% share. Next is Europe with 24%, followed by 23% in the UK and 8% in the U.S. Other markets contributed 6% of the sales numbers.

Of the total sales, Land Rover sold a record number of 34,313 SUVs in the month of May, a 6% hike as compared to May 2015. Discovery Sport came out as the single most sold car with 10,075 units bought. Jaguar, on the other hand, clocked 10,633 vehicle sales, with 3000 of these being Jaguar F-Pace. This number is 90% higher than the sales from May 2015.
