The last year launched Jaguar XJ-R is all set for another makeover. A semi- camouflaged test mule of the facelifted XJ-R has been spotted testing near the Nurburgring in Germany. The camouflage was used only at the front and rear, indicating the actual changed areas on the body.
The most evident changes on the facelift are re-designed bumpers with larger intakes. The front grille has also been extended outwards and downsized leaving more space for the intake below it. All other components on the outside seem to be untouched.
Mechanically, the car will be identical to the on-going model XJ-R, powered by a a 5.0-litre turbocharged unit churning out a great 542 bhp and 680 Nm of torque. This engine will also be shared with Land Rover in the 2015 Range Rover Sport RS.
The XJ has been one of the most popular cars from the Jaguar's stable. In India company’s Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7-Series competitor, is available only in the XJ-L avatar in four variants with two engine options. Prices range from INR 1.26 Crore for the base 3.0 V6 to INR 1.84 Crore for the 5.0 V8 top-of-the line variant.
